12 Spring Tracing Worksheets for Hours of Fun!
Spring tracing worksheets for loads of fun for littles
Just like the winter tracing cards, these spring tracing worksheets offer many options for encouraging creativity, resilience and calm and fine motor skills development. I highly recommend covering them with contact paper, page protectors, or laminating them for continuous use. Here are some ways you can use them.
Trace with your finger
Of course, the simplest way to use these spring tracing worksheets is to print them out, cut along the colored squares to separate each image, and give them to your child to trace with his finger. Each image is one continuous line, so find the broken place and instruct your child to use one finger to follow the line to the end. The focused attention on following the line encourages mindfulness and calm. There are twelve images in all, so if they do them one right after the other, you can get your sweet child back from the edge in about 15 minutes.
Trace with crayons
If you use my suggestion of protecting your printed sheets, your child can write on them. They can trace the lines of the images with a dry erase marker or a crayon and practice their handwriting fine motor skills. They could also use some creativity and color inside the images after they’ve traced the outline. This activity also helps with drawing skills as it teaches them how to make pictures using a continuous line. To switch it up, they could try tracing it backwards, too.
On the go fun!
These free spring tracing worksheets make a great activity when you are traveling or waiting somewhere and you need to keep your child occupied. If you want to enjoy the benefits of tech-free days, you don’t want to rely on a tablet or phone all the time. So, grab these cards instead!
Storytelling prompts
One popular storytelling technique is to use picture prompts. These are so open-ended that they can make great tools for sparking the imagination. Kids can grab one or two of the cut out cards and make a story about them.
Find me!
These spring tracing worksheets include common animals and nature objects that kids might find near their homes. You could use them as cards for a scavenger hunt type game. Just hand them a card and ask them to locate the featured item.
Coloring fun
For small children, it can be fun for them to simply color in the shapes instead of tracing them. The shapes are large with few details, making them perfect for small children just learning to color. In the same manner, they can be used to help them learn to draw with simple shapes.
