Description

You know that feeling when you’ve planned a whole learning activity, your child sits down… and five minutes later they’re done, bored, and asking for the iPad?

That’s the problem this pack was designed to solve.

Gardening for Kids is a 45-page printable unit that takes children aged 4–11 through the world of gardening in a way that genuinely holds their attention — because it mixes hands-on outdoor exploration with creative writing, art, and curriculum-aligned activities that cover five subject areas at once.

There’s no prep, no complicated setup — just open the file, press print, and it’s ready to use. Whether you’re at the kitchen table or out in the garden, your kids can dive straight in.

Here’s what’s inside:

A spring scavenger hunt that sends them outside to observe and discover. Story starters that get even reluctant writers excited to pick up a pencil. Science-based gardening worksheets that connect what they’re growing to what they’re learning. Poetry activities that sneak in language arts without it feeling like a lesson. Color-by-number pages that keep younger siblings happily occupied. And answer keys for everything, so you’re never left guessing.

The activities are scaffolded across the 4–11 age range, which means you can use this with multiple children at different levels at the same time — a genuine time-saver for homeschool families juggling mixed ages.

This pack was created by a homeschooling mother and son team who know from the inside what it’s like to need something that actually works — not just something that looks good on a curriculum plan. Everything in here has been designed to be engaging, not just educational.

If you’re looking for a way to make Spring and Summer learning feel less like a struggle and more like something your kids actually want to do — this is it.

Download the pack, press print, and let the garden do the rest.

  1. Taren

I picked up this Gardening for Kids printable on a whim, and I’m so glad I did! As a homeschooling mom, I’m always looking for resources that feel fun and engaging and this one checked all the boxes.

My kids were immediately drawn in by the gardening theme, and I love how it weaves learning into something so natural and seasonal. We are waiting (patiently) for Spring here in Northern Alberta, and can’t wait to do the scavenger hunt!

What I appreciate most is how thoughtfully it’s put together for multiple ages. My 5 year old could happily colour and participate, while my 9 year old stayed challenged and engaged. It made for a really peaceful, connected learning time instead of me juggling completely separate lessons.

It felt less like “school” and more like an extension of everyday life, which is exactly what we aim for in our home. If you’re looking to bring a little more nature, creativity, and ease into your homeschool rhythm this season, this is a beautiful little resource to have on hand!
