Well, Mothers Day is right around the corner and I don’t know about you, but I really don’t want to spend $$ on a card. Let’s face it, they end up in the garbage. It’s like taking your $$ and putting it in the trash. So, let’s do something better. What about a free Mothers Day printable card that you can personalize and to which you can add your mother’s favorite tea? This is so much better than a generic dollar store card!

How This Free Mothers Day Printable Can Make Mother’s Day Extra Special

A Mother’s Day Tea Party Activity

First, prepare some Mother’s Day healthy treats and invite your mom, your wife (psst, dads, that’s your cue…), and the kiddos to the party! Set out the plates, cups, and napkins. Then, have the free Mothers Day printable tea pots all cut out and placed next to each plate, ready for decorating. There are butterflies and hearts as well as different pocket designs. Each tea pot has a slit for the “lid” to slip inside. Encourage each person to write a special mom memory they treasure on the lid before they slip it inside their tea pot, even the moms (hey, moms have moms, right?)! Then, they are all ready for giving or sharing.

Card and Gift All-in-One!

The free Mothers Day printable tea pot craft is a card and a gift holder all in one! You can write a special message on the slip inside lid and then add a piece of candy, a gift card, a favorite drink mix or tea, or even a small cookie inside the pocket. Better yet, you could use the pocket to leave a clue for where a larger gift for mom is hiding.

A Pot of Clues for the Jackpot…

Another idea is to create a scavenger hunt with the free Mothers Day printable tea pot craft. Here’s what you do.

There are five pots. So, you will need five clues. You could:

  • Write a clue to the location of a gift on the lid of each pot. When all the pots are found and all the clues put together, it reveals the location. The clues could be letters of a word, such as “kitchen cabinet”, or part of a set of directions to a location.
  • Put pieces of a puzzle in the pocket of each pot and when all five pieces are put together, it reveals a message or location.
  • Use both the lid and the pocket of each tea pot. The lid could have some sort of written clue and the pocket could have a physical clue. For example, if the lid of each tea pot has part of a word that reveals the location of a gift, then the pocket could include something from that location. So, if the word is “kitchen cabinet,” each pocket could have a little something from the cabinet such as a dried navy bean, dried herbs, or a tea bag.

Or, use the free Mothers Day printable tea pot as an invitation

Instead of using it as a craft, you could use it as an invitation to brunch. You don’t have to add a pocket. You could simply print out your favorite tea pot, decorate it, and use the sliding lid to write your invitation. Use your imagination! This craft also makes great invitations for little girl parties or ladies’ breakfasts, too. Add pressed flowers, candies, tokens, folded napkins (instead of the lid), poetry, favorite quotes, or whatever you dream up.
